en.Wedoany.com Reported - QatarEnergy has decided to postpone the expansion of the world's largest liquefied natural gas (LNG) plant, Ras Laffan, according to sources cited by Bloomberg, with Interfax also reporting the news.

The complex is currently operating at the minimum allowable level. To ensure safety, the number of vessels calling at the facility for loading will be significantly restricted in the coming days.
In mid-June, reports indicated that Qatar planned to gradually restore some production capacity that had been frozen due to tensions in the Middle East. According to the original plan, approximately half of the LNG production was expected to resume within one month after the Strait of Hormuz was reopened for free navigation; within two months, export capacity was planned to be increased to 80%.
The situation deteriorated on Tuesday when a Qatari LNG tanker was damaged in an attack near the Strait of Hormuz off the coast of Oman. Qatari authorities linked the incident to Iranian actions.
