en.Wedoany.com Reported - Norwegian electronics manufacturing company Kitron achieved record revenue and operating profit in the second quarter of 2026, driven by accelerated demand growth in the defense and aerospace market segment, along with growth in other market segments.

Second-quarter revenue reached €295.7 million, a 72% increase from €172.2 million in the same period last year. The defense and aerospace market segment continued to lead, and all market segments achieved growth compared to the same period last year. Operating profit (EBIT) was €28.3 million, compared to €15.0 million in the same period last year; the EBIT margin improved from 8.7% in the same period last year to 9.6%, in line with the strategic goal of maintaining a profit margin above 9%. Order backlog reached €794.3 million, a 56% year-on-year increase. Net profit after tax was €21.4 million, compared to €10.0 million in the same period last year; earnings per share were €0.10, up from €0.05 last year.

Kitron CEO Peter Nilsson stated that the second quarter of 2026 continued the strongest trend in the company's history. Customers are restructuring their supply chains around resilience and origin rather than lowest cost, a structural shift that aligns with Kitron's strengths. The forces driving the market—European defense rearmament, electrification of power grids and data centers, and digitalization of advanced industries—show no signs of cooling, and the company enters the second half of the year with strong momentum.

Looking ahead, Kitron previously announced 2026 revenue expectations of between €900 million and €1.05 billion, with operating profit (EBIT) between €84 million and €108 million. Current data is trending toward the upper end of these ranges. Although strong customer demand supports a higher outlook, constraints in the electronics supply chain keep the company cautious.

Kitron is a Scandinavian electronics manufacturing services company serving the connectivity, electrification, industrial, medical equipment, and defense and aerospace sectors. The group operates in Norway, Sweden, Denmark, Lithuania, Germany, Poland, the Czech Republic, India, Malaysia, China, and the United States, with over 3,000 employees and 2025 revenue of €738 million.
