en.Wedoany.com Reported - At 18:00 on July 10, Unit 3 of the Hainan Changjiang Nuclear Power Plant, constructed by China Nuclear Industry Fifth Construction Co., Ltd., successfully achieved first criticality, marking that the unit has officially acquired the capability for a self-sustaining controlled chain fission reaction. The project construction has fully entered the power operation phase, laying the foundation for subsequent grid connection and commercial operation.

Unit 3 of the Hainan Changjiang Nuclear Power Plant is the first unit in the Hainan Free Trade Port to adopt the "Hualong One" independent third-generation nuclear power technology. Since the start of construction, China Nuclear Industry Fifth Construction Co., Ltd. has implemented the policy of "safety first, quality first" during construction, applied the refined management requirements of "six controls and seven zeros," and drawn on practical experience and feedback from previous Hualong units to steadily advance installation, construction, and system commissioning. The project team completed the scheduled milestone tasks by focusing on critical paths, tightening control responsibilities, and refining construction measures, ensuring the unit's criticality.
