en.Wedoany.com Reported - Chilean telecom operator Entel Digital has partnered with U.S. digital infrastructure service provider Cirion Technologies to deploy cloud computing, artificial intelligence, network connectivity, and enterprise digital services at Cirion's SAN2 data center in Quilicura, Santiago, Chile. The agreement covers both the Chilean and Peruvian markets, enabling Entel to leverage Cirion's data center and regional network resources to provide high-density computing, hybrid cloud, multi-cloud connectivity, and critical business system hosting services for enterprises in both countries.
SAN2 is a carrier-neutral data center built for AI and hyperscale computing demands, with an existing available capacity exceeding 20MW. The campus is located in the Quilicura industrial zone, approximately 2.5 kilometers from Cirion's SAN1 data center in Santiago, and is directly connected via dedicated fiber optics. The facility provides access to multiple telecom operators, cloud service providers, and content platforms, allowing enterprises to avoid binding all operations to a single network provider and to choose different connectivity paths based on latency, cost, and business continuity requirements.
This collaboration goes beyond simple rack leasing, integrating Entel's digital solution ecosystem into SAN2's power supply and distribution, server rooms, fiber interconnection, and high-density computing environment. Entel customers can deploy private clouds, hybrid clouds, AI inference systems, and critical enterprise applications within the data center, connecting to hyperscale cloud platforms, other data centers, and operator networks through direct interconnection. By reducing data detours across multiple external nodes, transmission paths are shortened, while latency and additional bandwidth costs from cross-network exchanges are lowered.
AI workloads impose significantly higher demands on data centers compared to standard enterprise IT systems. When large numbers of GPU servers run concurrently, higher rack power is required, along with synchronized high-capacity power supply, cooling, storage, and high-speed networking. Cirion states that SAN2 has the foundational conditions to support high-energy-density equipment and reserves capacity for liquid cooling system installation, enabling it to handle AI, cloud computing, and other compute-intensive tasks. The data center also employs redundant power and cooling architectures designed for high availability, and its design has received Uptime Institute Tier III certification, allowing critical operations to continue during planned maintenance of certain facilities.
With the collaboration extending to Peru, Entel can leverage Cirion's data centers and fiber optic networks across Latin America to organize cross-regional services without building complete data center infrastructure in each market individually. Cirion currently operates over 105,000 kilometers of high-capacity fiber optic networks in Latin America, forming a digital infrastructure system comprising long-haul terrestrial fiber, metropolitan area networks, submarine cables, and carrier-neutral data centers. This enables Entel to connect Chilean enterprises' operations to Peruvian nodes or help multinational customers deploy data backups, cloud platforms, and AI applications across both countries.
Entel Digital's "2025 AI Adoption Study" shows that 80% of large enterprises and approximately 70% of small and medium-sized enterprises in Chile already use AI tools, with half of them considering themselves to be in an advanced application stage. As enterprises transition from trial models to long-term AI system operations, demands for server power, data storage, cloud connectivity, and security management will increase simultaneously. This partnership will directly integrate Entel's network and digital services into SAN2's infrastructure, with the next phase focusing on customer system migration, cloud platform access, computing resource deployment, and cross-regional network activation between Chile and Peru.
