Designated as hull number HY2602, the vessel is designed by Wuhan Changjiang Ship Design Institute Co., Ltd. and will be classed with the China Classification Society (CCS). It features Type C fully pressurized liquid cargo tanks made of high-strength, low-temperature-resistant steel, eliminating the need for a low-temperature insulation system while enabling fully pressurized sealed transport. It is suitable for carrying liquefied petroleum gas (LPG), ammonia, and other gaseous chemical products, primarily serving short-sea and coastal feeder routes. The vessel meets the latest CCS classification standards and current Chinese emission regulations, achieving advanced domestic levels in navigation safety, loading flexibility, and energy efficiency and environmental protection.
The ordering party, Changsheng (Shanghai) Shipping Co., Ltd., was established in 1996. It was formerly a second-tier enterprise directly under China Changjiang National Shipping Group, restructured in 2008, and relocated to the Shanghai Free Trade Zone in 2012. It is one of the earliest professional shipping companies engaged in liquefied gas water transport in China. Zhejiang Haoyou Shipbuilding Co., Ltd., founded in 2002 and located in Jiantiao Port, Sanmen County, Zhejiang Province, is a key shipbuilding enterprise in the province and a provincial-level technology-based small and medium-sized enterprise. The shipyard covers an area of 200,000 square meters, boasting 780 meters of deep-water shoreline, one 100,000 DWT dry dock, four slipways of various specifications, and two 10,000 DWT fitting-out berths. It is equipped with 33 gantry cranes of 50,000-ton class and over 1,000 units of various advanced processing and testing equipment, with fixed assets approaching RMB 1 billion.
