en.Wedoany.com Reported - Zenith Energy has acquired a new 4.5 megawatt peak (MWp) ground-mounted photovoltaic development project in Rome, Italy.
As the company commences construction on its first solar power plants in the Puglia region, Zenith is acquiring a second site at a price of €70,000 ($115,150) per hectare, steadily advancing its goal of building a 200MWp Italian project pipeline.
CEO Andrea Cattaneo stated that this acquisition brings the company's development pipeline to 193MWp, reflecting strong momentum in its acquisition strategy.
Three projects in the Puglia region are now fully under construction, with the target of completing commissioning and grid connection by the end of the year. Consequently, the next independent valuation is expected to rise significantly from the €54.7 million reported as of March 31, 2026, reflecting both the expansion of the development portfolio and the value created through project construction.
Additionally, Zenith is in advanced discussions with a leading national renewable energy operator regarding the potential disposal of a development project. If completed, such a transaction would validate the company's acquisition strategy and demonstrate its ability to create value through project origination and development, while providing funds for reinvestment in further acquisitions and continued portfolio expansion.
Cattaneo added that the recently approved €23 billion FER X incentive scheme presents an additional growth opportunity. Under the new framework, photovoltaic projects with an hourly generation capacity of less than 1MW are automatically eligible for state support without participating in competitive auctions, and the company is actively pursuing acquisitions in this segment. Italy continues to offer a favorable environment for solar development, supported by favorable long-term electricity market fundamentals and a strong regulatory commitment to driving the energy transition.
In June of this year, Zenith Energy had already acquired an additional 5MWp ground-mounted photovoltaic development project in Rome, with a purchase price of €440,000.
Zenith Energy is an independent energy company focused on multiple assets in North Africa, the United States, and Europe.
