en.Wedoany.com Reported - The Hanyangdao Middle School metro over-track project, Tianjin's first "education + rail transit" project undertaken by China Energy Engineering Corporation Road and Bridge Company, recently passed completion acceptance. Located directly above the Balitai Station of Metro Line 7 on Weijin Road in Heping District, Tianjin, passengers can enter the campus directly after exiting the metro station.

The project faced multiple technical challenges during construction. The original design required a 45-day curing period for the post-cast strip of the floor slab, which could not align with the overall construction schedule. Project Chief Engineer Guo Yujian led the technical team to collaborate with the design unit, proposing to cancel the traditional post-cast strip and instead use a cast-in-place micro-expansion concrete reinforcement strip. While ensuring structural safety and seismic performance standards were met, this optimization eliminated the 45-day curing period, bringing the delayed schedule back on track. Guo Yujian stated in the report that the cast-in-place reinforcement strip could perfectly replace the post-cast strip, with all structural safety indicators meeting standards, effectively making up for the earlier delays. After verifying each item, the design representative acknowledged the feasibility and reliability of the optimization plan.

Facing the complex structure of a double-thick slab on the first-floor ceiling, where the original plan required erecting 1,500 square meters of full scaffolding, the team adjusted the ceiling to a bottom-flush design, eliminating the need for extensive scaffolding erection and dismantling, saving 20 days of construction time. Project Manager Ji Zhiyong stated that technological innovation is not just for show but is key to solving practical problems, and the team effectively addressed various construction challenges through proactive efforts.

The project is located directly above the Balitai Station of Metro Line 7, adjacent to the old campus on the east, near the metro ventilation pavilion and cooling tower on the north, and close to the Weijin Road auxiliary road and Balitai Bridge on the west, with the narrowest point of the land red line less than 2 meters. During the early construction phase, only the west auxiliary road was available, which was also occupied by metro excavation work; while the project department conducted main construction of the school above, it also had to coordinate with the metro interior finishing work below. The project department reported and coordinated with municipal and district housing and construction authorities, traffic management departments, and the school more than 20 times, and held over 30 high-frequency meetings with metro construction units, ultimately successfully taking over the site and achieving road-occupying construction.

The project team adopted a three-dimensional development model vertically stacking educational buildings with rail transit, building the campus above the metro, effectively utilizing underground and above-ground three-dimensional space. This innovative spatial solution precisely addressed the core pain points of scarce land resources and difficulty in expanding supporting facilities.

A large number of autoclaved aerated concrete panels were used for interior partition walls in the school. This material is lightweight, insulating, and soundproof but brittle, requiring high construction precision. On-site production manager Qu Chuangye led the team to conduct advance inspections, identifying risk points from the transportation and unloading stages. The project team established a QC research group, setting a target to increase the first-pass rate of panel installation to over 90%. The group used customized protective padding to prevent transport damage, introduced BIM technology for precise positioning simulation, and invited professional manufacturer technicians to oversee the entire process from cutting to installation. After multiple PDCA cycles, the first-pass rate of panel installation increased from 72.6% to 92%, and a standardized operation guide was developed.

Located in the city center, the project faced high transportation costs and significant safety investments. Operations Manager Ma Luwei stated that every expense must be accounted for down to the day and refined to the cubic meter. The team established a dynamic cost ledger and a weekly loss review mechanism, integrating smart construction sites and digital management tools into the entire operational process, achieving cost control precise to the day and refined to the cubic meter. The project's cost estimation case stood out among hundreds of participating companies nationwide, winning the Excellent Case Award in the Construction Central Enterprise Group category at the 2025 Glodon "Construction Enterprise Cost Control Digital Competition."

After hundreds of days of construction, the Hanyangdao Middle School metro over-track project was officially completed. The campus features bright classrooms, spacious corridors, and a modern teaching environment, achieving convenient access from the metro station directly to the campus.
