en.Wedoany.com Reported - Norwegian asset integrity management company Axess Group has secured new contracts with Golar LNG to provide maintenance, construction, and integrity management services for two floating liquefied natural gas (FLNG) units deployed in an Argentina LNG project. Golar LNG is a Bermuda-based liquefied natural gas (LNG) midstream infrastructure owner and operator.

Following a competitive bidding process, Axess Group was selected to provide services for two assets: MK II FLNG and Hilli FLNG. These FLNG units will be leased to Southern Energy S.A. (SESA), a consortium owned by Argentina's major natural gas producers, aimed at advancing the country's LNG exports. SESA's shareholders include Pan American Energy (30%), YPF (25%), Pampa Energia (20%), Harbour Energy (15%), and Golar (10%).
The scope of work for the first FLNG (MK II FLNG) includes maintenance and construction services, involving the establishment of asset hierarchy and asset register, as well as comprehensive maintenance and inspection plans, designed to lay the foundation for long-term asset integrity and operational reliability. For the second FLNG (Hilli FLNG), integrity revalidation services are required, supporting asset redeployment through RBI revalidation, structural integrity reassessment, and inspection baseline integration.
Andreas Sæter, Vice President of Axess Group Europe, stated that these contracts reflect the client's confidence in Axess's execution model and technical expertise in FLNG asset integrity, providing a platform for the company to achieve long-term value creation through high-quality AIM (Asset Integrity Management) delivery and operational support.
FLNG MK II, converted from the LNG carrier Fuji, is a next-generation FLNG unit with a liquefaction capacity of 3.5 million tons per year, scheduled for delivery in the fourth quarter of 2027. FLNG Hilli is one of the world's first converted floating liquefied natural gas units and has been in commercial operation since 2018. Once these assets are operational, FLNG Hilli Episeyo will commence commercial operations in September 2027, followed by MK II at the end of 2028, bringing the total capacity of the two units to approximately 6 million tons per year.
Axess will leverage its global operational network and comprehensive service portfolio to provide end-to-end, digitalized asset integrity management solutions for these two assets. These contracts solidify the company's position in the global FLNG sector, deepen its long-term relationship with Golar across its operational fleet, and establish a foothold for execution and operational support activities in South America.
