en.Wedoany.com Reported - On July 12, 2026, the world's largest container ship flying the French flag, the "CMA CGM NOTRE DAME," made its maiden call at the Port of Hamburg, Germany. Operated by the French shipping group CMA CGM, the vessel has a maximum capacity of 24,212 TEUs and is one of the world's largest LNG dual-fuel container ships.
The "CMA CGM NOTRE DAME" completed its maiden voyage from Shanghai's Yangshan Port in May 2026 and was officially named at the Port of Le Havre, France, on July 2. The vessel is deployed on CMA CGM's FAL-3 service connecting Asia and Europe, calling at ports including Ningbo, Shanghai, Yantian, Singapore, Le Havre, Rotterdam, Hamburg, and Tangier Med, with a full round trip lasting approximately 105 days. The ship measures 399 meters in length and 61.3 meters in width, featuring an LNG propulsion system equipped with an 18,600 cubic meter LNG fuel tank, reducing CO2 emissions by 67% compared to conventional fuels.
As one of the world's largest LNG-powered container ships, this vessel not only reflects CMA CGM's continued investment in clean energy shipping but also highlights the technological pathway of the maritime industry's transition to low-carbon operations. The "CMA CGM NOTRE DAME" is scheduled to depart Hamburg on Tuesday, July 14, and will regularly operate between Asia and Europe, maintaining periodic calls at the Port of Hamburg.
