FlyUSA of the United States Opens a 4,645-Square-Meter Aviation Hangar, Accommodating Approximately 20 Aircraft
en.Wedoany.com Reported - On October 12, the U.S. private aviation services company FlyUSA announced the official opening of a newly built aviation hangar at Tampa International Airport. The facility has a building area of 50,000 square feet, equivalent to approximately 4,645 square meters, and can accommodate about 20 light, midsize, and large jets depending on the aircraft mix, with aircraft maintenance, ground support, and dedicated owner lounge facilities centralized on site. The hangar has now become FlyUSA's primary aircraft maintenance base.

The new hangar is located on the north side of Tampa International Airport and is equipped with a dedicated tail passage door, capable of accommodating aircraft up to the size of a Boeing 737, while also meeting the parking needs of large long-range business jets such as the Gulfstream G700 and Bombardier Global 7500. FlyUSA consolidates aircraft parking, routine maintenance, fuel replenishment, and ground scheduling within the same facility, with the company's own ground support team carrying out the related operations.
FlyUSA currently manages 30 aircraft in the Tampa area, of which 20 have been deployed to the new hangar. The new base will support approximately 30 employees in maintenance, aircraft scheduling, and ground support work. The dedicated lounge area within the facility is open only to owners of aircraft managed by FlyUSA and is equipped with personal lockers, meeting rooms, and other amenities, while charter passengers will continue to handle their travel services through the airport's existing fixed-base operator facilities.
Because the new hangar is located in a different area from the facilities of the airport's two existing fixed-base operators, FlyUSA organizes aircraft refueling and ground movement operations on its own at the new base. The company is also applying the operational experience of its existing facility management team at Clearwater Executive Airport to the Tampa base.
FlyUSA also holds a land lease interest in Lakeland, Florida, and plans to build and open another approximately 50,000-square-foot hangar between late 2028 and early 2029. That facility is intended for longer-cycle heavy maintenance work, while the Tampa base will handle the company's primary aircraft maintenance and owner services business.
