en.Wedoany.com Reported - The Chilean Production Development Corporation (Corfo) and the National Copper Corporation of Chile (Codelco) held a meeting to present the main action guidelines and objectives of the Mining Integrated Regional Plan (PTI). Led by its Regional Director Samuel Chávez, Corfo representatives met with a senior management team headed by Luis Hernán Concha, Codelco's Manager of Sustainability and External Affairs, as a strategic step to promote industrial and technological development in the Valparaíso Region.
The PTI is an industry initiative promoted by Corfo aimed at uniting various stakeholders in the mining ecosystem—including large companies, goods and services suppliers, academia, and the public sector—to address competitiveness gaps, foster innovation, and accelerate the adoption of clean technologies. During the working meeting, the Corfo team presented how the plan aligns with the operational needs and sustainability challenges of Codelco, the world's largest copper producer. Key axes proposed include the development of advanced human capital, process digitalization, and promoting local suppliers to meet established standards.

"This alliance with Codelco is crucial for the success of the PTI. We want local suppliers not only to meet current industry demands but also to become exporters of technological innovation and sustainability," said Samuel Chávez. Codelco expressed its appreciation, emphasizing that strengthening the local production environment is key to ensuring more efficient operations aligned with its social and environmental goals.
