en.Wedoany.com Reported - The U.S. government has officially launched the Gold Eagle initiative, aimed at centrally identifying and fixing cybersecurity vulnerabilities to address the growing threats from artificial intelligence (AI). By integrating federal agencies, AI developers, open-source software developers, and critical infrastructure enterprises, the initiative seeks to accelerate vulnerability discovery and coordinate remediation efforts.

The Gold Eagle initiative stems from the executive order "Promoting Advanced Artificial Intelligence Innovation and Security" signed by President Trump on June 2, 2026. The initiative is advanced through collaboration among the Treasury, the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) under the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), and the Department of War. It aims to address redundancy in current vulnerability scanning efforts by centralizing vulnerability scanning and remediation coordination. The White House has described Gold Eagle as a "force multiplier."
Although AI is one of the causes of increased cyberattacks, Gold Eagle will leverage AI to counter these threats, including using AI models such as Anthropic Mythos to identify vulnerabilities and flaws. U.S. Homeland Security Secretary Markwayne Mullin stated that this strategic partnership will expand existing security measures to protect software and networks. Secretary of War Pete Hegseth noted that because AI discovers vulnerabilities faster than humans can patch them, the lifecycle of patches has ended, and this initiative aims to achieve continuous patching in the cyber domain. Gold Eagle will also assist the open-source community, which typically has limited resources to effectively fix security issues compared to enterprise software vendors. The system will prioritize the most critical vulnerabilities and filter out noise from low-quality reports.
By adopting a centralized approach and leveraging AI, the Gold Eagle initiative integrates resources across agencies to build a more resilient and proactive cyber defense against increasingly complex cyber threats.
