en.Wedoany.com Reported - The China team of Norwegian electronics manufacturer Kitron has developed an automated FCT (Functional Circuit Test) platform that fully integrates robotics, data traceability, and hands-free operation, aiming to improve the efficiency and accuracy of testing processes in electronics manufacturing.

Independently designed and built by the Suzhou test development team, the platform covers software development, hardware design, platform assembly, and validation testing. Its core advantage lies in being a universal test platform with sufficient flexibility to integrate manual testers, thereby transforming them into automated testing solutions. The platform embodies years of experience in optimizing universal test platforms and addresses limitations in manual testing, such as operator adjustments and visual judgment errors.

Based on observations of human-machine interaction in production, the team introduced robotics to handle automatic pick-and-place product operations. A six-axis robot can simultaneously serve up to three test machines, picking products from the input position, placing them into test fixtures, and sorting products into pass or fail areas based on test results. The operator's role is limited to loading batch products into the system, streamlining the workflow and reducing manual operations.

The platform adopts a metal frame structure to ensure stability during operation and withstand high-volume production demands. All test results are automatically synchronized with the traceability system, providing a complete product history and supporting quality assurance.

The platform achieves fully automated testing, with all results automatically uploaded to the traceability system. Operators do not need to manually adjust equipment or interpret test results during the process, reducing human errors and improving operational efficiency.

The successful development of the automated FCT platform marks a significant advancement for Kitron's China factory, laying the foundation for future efficiency improvements. The platform can be integrated with Automated Guided Vehicles (AGVs) in the future to enable unmanned product transport. This vision of achieving fully unmanned intervention across the entire production line will further reduce manual operations, enhance efficiency, and ensure high-quality output at every stage.
