en.Wedoany.com Reported - Sentinel Exploration (NSX:SOX) has received assay results from its second round of drilling at the Marda East Gold Project in Western Australia, with one hole returning 1.12 grams per tonne gold over 30 meters from 12 meters depth.
The shallow composite sample was taken from hole 26MERC057, which included two higher-grade three-meter composite samples: 5.35 g/t gold over 3 meters from 15 meters depth, and 3.59 g/t gold over 3 meters from 36 meters depth.
The entire drilling campaign comprised 33 holes for a total of 2,915 meters of reverse circulation drilling, following up on the company's first exploration program in 2025 to further test selected areas of gold mineralization. Sentinel completed 29 holes at the project last year.
Managing Director Simon Adams said the latest results represent a "primary gold discovery" in the long regional exploration history of the area. Adams noted that the company's two drilling campaigns have encountered gold mineralization in multiple holes, with ongoing technical work focused on defining the geometry, continuity, and geological controls of the mineralized system. He emphasized that the best composite interval identified in the second drilling campaign—1.12 g/t gold over 30 meters from 12 meters depth in hole 26MERC057, along with other drilling results—confirms the presence of a gold system at the Marda East project.
Adams explained that the company has taken a rigorous technical approach at the Marda East project. The current focus is on completing selected one-meter split sample analysis and three targeted diamond drill holes, which will provide higher-resolution data to determine the thickness, grade distribution, and continuity of mineralization.
Data from three-meter composite samples and one-meter split sample analysis will be integrated with first-round drilling results, soil geochemistry, and geological interpretation. Sentinel will review petrography results, lithological logs, and alteration data to enhance interpretation of rock types and mineralized zones. Petrographic work has identified two main rock types: alkali feldspar microgranite (AFG) and K-feldspar microgranite (KFG), with the latter containing minor pyrite associated with arsenopyrite and minor quartz veins related to gold mineralization.
Marda East is Sentinel's flagship project, and the company holds a geographically diverse portfolio of projects in Western Australia. Sentinel Exploration (NSX:SOX) is a resource company focused on acquiring, exploring, and developing mining opportunities in Australia and globally.
