en.Wedoany.com Reported - Galactic Gold Corp. (TSXV: GGAU) has commenced field work at the Hardrock West project, following newly acquired geophysical data that helped the company identify high-priority targets within major gold-bearing structures of the Beardmore-Geraldton Greenstone Belt (BGGB) in northwestern Ontario.

The company recently completed total magnetic intensity (TMI) and electromagnetic (EM) surveys over the 28,586-hectare property. The surveys delineated magnetic anomaly trends along the Paint Lake Fault and the Bankfield–Tombill Deformation Zone, both structural corridors within the BGGB considered associated with gold mineralization. Galactic stated that the new geophysical data helped narrow the list of priority targets and guided the initiation of field mapping and prospecting work.

Following the identification of these targets, Galactic's early field work has focused on the Sturgeon Bridge area. Kodiak Exploration (TSXV: KDK) drilled nine holes in this area in 2008 and delineated a mineralized trend now believed to extend over 2 kilometers. Kodiak's drill intercepts include: 2.53 g/t gold over 1.6 meters, 1.75 g/t gold over 3.8 meters, and 66.7 g/t gold over 0.3 meters. The company stated that new mapping and sampling programs aim to verify these results.

Galactic CEO Ken Berry said: "The summer field program will continue to evaluate targets across the property, with plans for geological mapping in the Trench Lake and Missing Link North areas, while updating the geological and mineralization model at Sturgeon Bridge."
