en.Wedoany.com Reported - Canadian mineral exploration company Galloper Gold Corp. announced in July 2026 that its Kettle Pond camp on Glover Island, Newfoundland, has been officially completed and has transitioned from the construction phase to the exploration operations phase. The camp's operation will provide critical logistical support for its mineral exploration activities in central Newfoundland and help reduce the cost of mineral discovery.
Galloper Gold Corp. is a junior mining company focused on mineral exploration, with its flagship asset, the Glover Island exploration project, located in central Newfoundland and Labrador, Canada. The project comprises 466 mining claims under 13 mineral licenses, covering an area of 117.21 square kilometers (11,721 hectares). Historical exploration work has delineated the LPSE 2026 gold resource, fully controlled by Galloper Gold Corp., within this area. The newly completed Kettle Pond camp serves as the core operational base for the project's exploration efforts.
According to Bryan Sparrow, the company's Vice President of Exploration, the camp currently accommodates 20 people and is equipped with comprehensive logistical support facilities. The camp features three diesel generators with a total capacity of 75 kilowatts to ensure energy supply, a fully operational core shack and office, a kitchen capable of serving over 20 people, and four washroom facilities with hot water. Additionally, the camp provides filtered and purified drinking water, laundry machines and dryers, and high-speed satellite internet to ensure communication connectivity.
Sparrow stated that the camp serves as a launchpad for the exploration project, helping to keep costs at a very reasonable level. With this facility now operational, the cost of mineral discovery will be significantly reduced. As a junior mining company, operational cost control is a key factor in project advancement. The completion and operation of the Kettle Pond camp means Galloper Gold can organize subsequent drilling and exploration work more efficiently and cost-effectively, thereby accelerating the assessment of the resource potential of the Glover Island project.
Galloper Gold is currently focused on advancing exploration work at the Glover Island project. Leveraging the newly built camp infrastructure, the company plans to conduct systematic exploration activities during the 2026 exploration season to further verify and expand known mineralized zones, laying the foundation for subsequent resource estimation. The activation of this camp marks a significant milestone in Galloper Gold's transition from the exploration preparation phase to substantive exploration operations.
