en.Wedoany.com Reported - Power Minerals (ASX:PNN) has completed drilling of the first two preliminary diamond drill holes at its Morro do Ferro rare earth project in Brazil and is advancing the third drill hole, which has already exceeded 200 meters in depth.
The first two drill holes reached depths of 210.9 meters and 173.3 meters respectively, aligning with historical drill holes but extending to deeper levels. The company stated that the third drill hole, MFSR-53, is undergoing vertical drilling to support geological and resource modeling efforts.
Power has recovered a total of 487.8 meters of core, with an average recovery rate of 94.5%. Samples from the completed drill holes have been sent to SGS Geosol for geochemical analysis, with results expected within three to four weeks.
This approximately 4,000-meter HQ triple-tube drilling program aims to test the depth and extent of existing mineralization. Additionally, another 800 meters of larger-diameter PQ drilling will collect samples for metallurgical test work.
Power Minerals CEO Alistair Stephens stated that a second drill rig is arriving soon to accelerate drilling progress.
"The second drill rig is on its way, and we are strategically positioned to continue drilling into December if necessary, thereby laying the foundation for a JORC-compliant mineral resource estimate," Stephens said.
Power aims to submit its first JORC 2012-compliant mineral resource estimate for the Morro do Ferro project later this year.
The company has also completed a drone survey within the Manifestos de Mina license area, collecting digital elevation, aerial photography, magnetic, and radiometric data. Power stated that this data will help constrain the resource model, refine the interpreted deposit geometry, and identify potential satellite targets.
The Morro do Ferro project is located within the Poços de Caldas alkaline complex in Minas Gerais state. Power holds land and mining rights in the area through the Manifesto de Mina license, but ground disturbance activities still require environmental approval.
Additionally, Power Minerals plans to complete soil sampling at its Santa Anna niobium project in Goiás state this quarter, targeting areas around the previously explored complex center.
