en.Wedoany.com Reported - Desert Minerals (ASX:DSM) plans to commence its first drilling program at the Mt Monger Gold Project in Western Australia in August 2026.

The company has secured approvals, access arrangements, and appointed a contractor for an approximately 1,000-meter reverse circulation drilling program. The drilling aims to test shallow extensions of the existing Providence Mineral Resource estimate, which remains open to the northwest and southwest.

The Providence resource hosts a JORC 2012 Inferred Resource of 204,700 tonnes at 2.5 g/t gold for 16,400 ounces, located approximately 45 kilometers southeast of Kalgoorlie. Historical drilling results at the prospect include 8 meters at 31.84 g/t gold from 66 meters, including 1 meter at 190.06 g/t; and 8 meters at 16.15 g/t gold from 60 meters, including 1 meter at 111.4 g/t. At the Divine prospect, 330 meters west-southwest of Providence, historical drilling returned 3 meters at 17 g/t gold from 97 meters.

Executive Chairman Peretz Shapiro stated that the program aims to expand the Providence resource and evaluate nearby targets. Shapiro noted that the resource is a high-grade, shallow gold resource within a proven production corridor adjacent to operating mines, remaining open in multiple directions, with the program designed to expand the existing 16,400-ounce inventory and test several compelling nearby targets.

Providence is located near Black Cat Syndicate's (ASX:BC8) Wombola operations, with the Wombola and Wombola Dam open pits approximately 900 meters and 1,700 meters away, respectively. Desert Minerals' Mt Monger South tenement also adjoins Vault Minerals' (ASX:VAU) Daisy Milano mining complex.

The project also hosts additional prospects at Divine, Hoffmann, and Samocynda, identified through historical drilling, trenching, and recent geochemical surveys. Desert Minerals noted that drilling is subject to contractor mobilization, and assay results will be reported as they become available.
