en.Wedoany.com Reported - Marmota (ASX:MEU) has exceeded 20,000 meters of reverse circulation (RC) drilling at the Greenewood gold discovery within the Gawler Gold Project in South Australia, completing 188 drill holes since drilling commenced on April 20, 2026. These holes are distributed across the main Greenewood zone (90 holes) and the southern Mainwood extension (98 holes). The company originally planned to complete approximately 220 holes but has now indicated it is "very likely" to expand the program.

Chairman Colin Rose stated that the drilling program has two primary objectives: to continue expanding the main Greenewood zone and to drill the southern extension, "Mainwood," in search of high-grade gold. Specifically, the drilling aims to extend the Greenewood orebody northward and at depth, define a continuous gold zone at Mainwood through first-pass drilling, increase resource tonnage, and improve drill density to provide an indicated resource for the upcoming scoping study.

"In just the last three months, Marmota has drilled twice as many meters of RC drilling as the total cumulative meters drilled at Greenewood and Mainwood over many years before Marmota owned these deposits," Rose said. "Our program is delivering outstanding results and is transforming the face of these deposits, which is the best reward and ultimate validation of the company's strategy."

Greenewood and Mainwood are located approximately 35 kilometers northwest of Marmota's flagship Aurora Tank gold project and about 30 kilometers northeast of the Challenger gold mine. These deposits are part of the Golden Moon joint venture, in which Marmota holds a 90% ownership interest through its wholly-owned subsidiary, Half Moon. The company launched its first scoping study for the Gawler Gold Project in November 2025. Marmota is a mining exploration company focused on gold, titanium, and uranium.
