en.Wedoany.com Reported - On July 19, with the successful grid connection of the final wind turbine, the expansion project of China Datang Julongliang Wind Farm—China's largest plateau mountain wind power project in terms of single-unit capacity—achieved full-capacity power generation, injecting strong momentum into the expansion of the regional new energy industry and green, low-carbon transformation.
Located in Jinyuan Township, Xundian County, Kunming City, the Julongliang Wind Farm expansion project sits at an average altitude of 3,239 meters. With a total installed capacity of 158.22 megawatts, the project features three 8.34 MW and twelve 11.1 MW wind turbines. Once operational, it is expected to provide approximately 462 million kilowatt-hours of clean electricity annually, saving about 140,000 tons of standard coal and reducing carbon dioxide emissions by approximately 380,000 tons, meeting the annual electricity needs of 180,000 three-person households.
Leveraging the region's excellent wind energy resources, the project adopts customized high-capacity wind turbines, breaking through the limitations of traditional mountain wind power equipment. It effectively adapts to the plateau's complex terrain, low temperatures, and strong winds, significantly improving wind energy utilization efficiency and power generation stability. This achieves efficient and intensive development of plateau mountain wind energy resources, setting a new benchmark for enhancing the quality and efficiency of China's high-altitude wind power.
