Energiequelle commissions 4.26 MW wind turbine in Danna, Germany
en.Wedoany.com Reported - On September 15, German renewable energy developer Energiequelle announced that its newly built wind turbine in Danna, Brandenburg, has officially entered operation. The project features one Enercon E-138 EP3 E3 turbine with a rated capacity of 4.26 MW and a hub height of 160 meters, forming a densification extension of the adjacent Feldheim wind farm. The project was built within an existing designated wind energy area, with no additional wind energy land use.

The turbine is expected to generate approximately 9,000 MWh per year. According to Energiequelle's estimates, this corresponds to the annual electricity consumption of about 2,600 to 2,700 three-person households. The project has now completed construction and entered the operational phase; this milestone marks the official commissioning of the new turbine, rather than the launch of planning, permitting, or construction.
The Danna project directly continues Energiequelle's long-operated Feldheim wind energy assets. According to Energiequelle's official information, the existing Feldheim wind farm consists of 52 turbines of various models, generating approximately 200 million kWh per year, of which about 0.5% supplies the local Feldheim area and the remainder feeds into the public grid. This 4.26 MW turbine adds new generating equipment within the existing wind energy development area and does not involve redesignating wind farm land.
Wind energy development in Feldheim dates back to 1995, when the first four Enercon E-40 turbines were commissioned; by 2006, the site had expanded to 43 turbines. Subsequently, biomass energy, an independent grid, and battery storage facilities were also built in the area, including the Feldheim regional frequency regulation storage project with 10 MW of power and approximately 10.8 MWh of lithium-ion battery capacity, which has been in regular operation since 2016.
The E-138 EP3 E3 commissioned here is the same model that Energiequelle is deploying in other projects across Germany. The company plans to install five turbines of the same model at the Lüben wind farm in Lower Saxony, each with a capacity of 4.26 MW and a hub height of 160 meters, with the project scheduled to be commissioned successively in the second to third quarters of 2027. The Danna project, by contrast, has already completed equipment construction and grid-connected operation.
