Asset Consolidation Completed for the Sampwe Copper Project in the DRC

en.Wedoany.com Reported - On September 15, Copper Intelligence announced that the Sampwe copper project has been incorporated into its asset portfolio. This consolidation was advanced under the sale and purchase agreement signed on February 4, 2026 between Luvua Resources SARL and African Discovery Group. The Sampwe project has now become one of Copper Intelligence's copper exploration assets in the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC).

The Sampwe project is located in the Kundelungu Mountains of Haut-Katanga Province in the DRC, approximately 255 kilometers from Lubumbashi. The project's current primary exploration target is the Sonta sandstone layer within the Kundelungu Group. This sedimentary rock formation lies within the Central African Copperbelt and is known to host copper mineralization.

Copper Intelligence is a publicly traded company in the United States with operations focused on copper exploration and development in the DRC. The company's asset arrangement disclosed in June shows that copper exploration, mining, and related operations currently underway or planned in the DRC will be progressively transferred into the Copper Intelligence system. The company aims to obtain no less than 51% control or ownership in the relevant copper projects. Assets previously included in this arrangement include the Tshopo, Amakuya, Lubutu North, and Omauwa projects.

The company is also advancing the Kitungu copper project this year. On April 29, its subsidiary CI Middle East signed a binding memorandum of understanding to acquire a majority stake in the Kitungu exploration license PR-15880. The license is located approximately 73 kilometers from Lubumbashi and covers an area of 764.55 hectares. The company subsequently established Copper Intelligence SARL, plans to ultimately hold a 55% interest in the relevant project company, and has already paid a prepayment of USD 220,000.

This disclosure regarding Sampwe remains at the stage of exploration asset consolidation. Copper Intelligence and the project parties have not yet published a JORC or NI 43-101 resource estimate, copper grade, drilling footage, orebody scale, development capital expenditure, or construction timetable for Sampwe. The current publicly disclosed work focus remains on exploration of the Sonta sandstone copper mineralization.
