Polish Maxnet invests PLN 7.3 million to complete Gdynia KPO network by August

en.Wedoany.com Reported - Maxnet, a local internet service provider from Gdynia, has signed an agreement with the Polish Digital Projects Center (Centrum Projektów Polska Cyfrowa) to build a network in white (uncovered) areas. The project originates from the third round of KPO tenders, with the relevant areas initially assigned to Warsaw-based JMDI, which ultimately withdrew, though the decision-making process took considerable time.

The project implementation area is located within the city of Gdynia, with a project value of approximately PLN 7.3 million, of which PLN 6.5 million is in subsidies. Maxnet states that its network construction is now gradually nearing completion.

Maxnet announced that the KPO project in Gdynia is nearly finished, with plans to complete all work by the end of August.

As part of the KPO project, Maxnet originally planned to cover nearly 1,600 address points in Gdynia, most of which are single-family homes. The subsidized address points are distributed across various districts of the city, including Kacze Buki, Chwarzno-Wiczlino, Pogórze, Centrum, and Orłowo. These areas were previously deemed unworthy of investment by operators, leaving local residents facing digital exclusion.

Despite this, some potential customers have expressed dissatisfaction with the service.

In a post, one potential customer wrote that Maxnet's pricing is less favorable than T-Mobile's fiber optic package, which costs only PLN 35 for a two-year plan.
