en.Wedoany.com Reported - Karoon Energy has restored operations at all production wells in the Baúna project offshore Brazil, following the completion of a workover on the PRA-2 well, lifting daily output to approximately 22,000 barrels.

The PRA-2 well resumed production on July 6 after workover operations reconnected the umbilical cable and electric submersible pump. The well is currently in the cleanup phase, with daily output ranging between 1,000 and 1,200 barrels.

This restart brings all production wells at the Baúna project into operation, with field output including approximately 8,600 barrels per day from the SPS-92 well. The PRA-2 well had been shut-in since October 2025 due to an accidental disconnection of the umbilical cable from the floating production storage and offloading (FPSO) vessel.

Karoon Energy stated that restoring all production wells to service marks another step toward higher production, lower capital expenditure, and stronger cash flow generation in the second half of 2026, subject to oil prices and operational performance meeting expectations. The company's CEO and Managing Director, Carri Lockhart, noted that the first half of 2026 has safely and on schedule delivered on commitments to restore production and enhance the performance and reliability of the Baúna asset. With the completion of major capital work programs at Baúna, the company is entering a phase of optimizing performance and maximizing investment value. Since the FPSO revitalization activities, the floating production storage and offloading vessel has been operating at the high end of the target 90% to 95% operational efficiency range.
