The qualification process was launched in September 2025, and the prequalified teams include: Fengate PCL Progress Partners (Lead: Fengate Capital Management Ltd. and PCL Investments Inc., Lead Architect: Parkin Architects Limited, Construction Team: PCL Constructors Canada Inc., Facilities Management: Honeywell Limited, Financial Advisor: National Bank Financial Inc.), Amico Science & Technology (Lead: Amico Major Projects Inc., Lead Architect: HOK Architects Corporation and WSP Canada Inc., Construction Team: Amico Design Build Inc. and Allyant Design and Construction Inc., Facilities Management: Dexterra Group Inc.), and Technology and Nature Integrated Collaborative (Plenary/EBC) (Lead: Plenary Americas Holdings Ltd., Lead Architect: DIALOG Ontario Inc., Bouthillette Parizeau Inc., and The HDI Group, Construction Team: EBC Inc. and Plan Group Inc., Facilities Management: Equans Services Inc.).

A Request for Proposals is planned for release in early fall, with the successful team expected to be announced by the end of 2027. The new science facility complex will permanently replace the Ministry of the Environment, Conservation and Parks' existing facility at 125 Resources Rd. and the Ministry of Labour, Immigration, Training and Skills Development's temporary facility at 6295 Northam Dr. The new space will consolidate both ministries into a single building, featuring a flexible and purpose-designed structure with adaptable laboratories, scientific workspaces, and offices to support current operations and future growth. The facility also includes "future-ready infrastructure" to support emerging economic sectors and protect public health and the environment through advanced monitoring of radioactive substances, environmental contaminants, and live viruses. Its design targets LEED Silver certification.
