According to CAPA Fleet Database data, the airline currently operates three 777-200F freighters. Jannie Davel, CEO of MSC Air Cargo, stated that this order is an investment in the long-term future of MSC Air, and the efficiency, range, and capacity offered by the 777-8 Freighter will enable the company to reliably serve customers in the coming years while advancing its commitment to more sustainable operations, making it the right aircraft for the next phase of growth.

MSC Air Cargo began operations in 2022, initially using 777-200F freighters operated on its behalf by Atlas Air. The company is a subsidiary of MSC Group, a global transport and logistics company. By acquiring Italy-based AlisCargo, it established its own European operating platform and was renamed MSC Air Cargo. The company is headquartered at Milan Malpensa Airport and operates routes including Hong Kong, Liège, Belgium, and Ezhou, China.

Boeing has secured orders for over 80 777-8F aircraft, with MSC Air Cargo being the third European air cargo operator to order this model.
