en.Wedoany.com Reported - The EPC project for a 500,000-ton-per-year soda ash plant in Zhambyl Region, Kazakhstan, has received a high-level inspection, with construction progress reaching approximately 90%. Kazakhstan's First Deputy Prime Minister, Nurlibek Nalibayev, recently visited the project site for an inspection, accompanied by Zhambyl Region Governor Yerbol Karashokeyev.
Nalibayev listened to reports on the overall project implementation, engineering construction progress, safety production, ESG management, and the next phase of the work plan. He also conducted an on-site inspection of the construction status of the main process area. He affirmed the phased achievements in project construction and highly commended CAMCE's project execution capabilities, construction efficiency, and engineering quality. Nalibayev noted that the project adopts advanced production processes and is committed to building a "zero-waste" modern factory to achieve efficient resource utilization and clean production. Once completed and operational, this soda ash plant will become Kazakhstan's first modern soda ash production facility, helping to improve the country's chemical industry chain, enhance the level of comprehensive resource utilization, and promote import substitution of related products, thereby supporting the high-quality development of Kazakhstan's economy.
Nalibayev emphasized that this project is an important outcome of production capacity cooperation between China and Kazakhstan, as well as an innovative cooperation project implemented under the framework of the Belt and Road Initiative. He expressed his expectation that CAMCE will continue to strictly control engineering quality, safety, and progress, advance the project construction to high standards, and ensure the project is completed and put into operation as soon as possible, thereby contributing to Kazakhstan's industrialization and socio-economic development.

Currently, the overall project progress has reached approximately 90%. The five major functional sections—the soda ash process area, brine area, living area, limestone mining area, and artesian well water intake project—have fully entered the stages of decoration, installation and commissioning handover, and tail-end construction. Core process equipment has been installed in place. Recently, the No. 1 circulating fluidized bed boiler has completed its drying-out process, and the brine area has successfully initiated cavity dissolution operations, marking the project's gradual entry into the commissioning preparation phase. In the next step, the project team will systematically advance the installation work for equipment, electrical and instrumentation, piping, anti-corrosion, and insulation, preparing for unit commissioning and system integration to ensure the project is completed and put into operation on schedule with high quality.
