Located at the 1,420-meter level of the "Golovnyi" ore body, the area has proven ore reserves of 141,000 tonnes with an iron grade exceeding 59%, and is scheduled to be fully extracted within the next four months.

The commissioning of this new mining area is part of Yuvileina mine's ongoing efforts to expand its extractable resources this year. Since 2026, the mine has commissioned a total of seven new mining areas, corresponding to combined ore reserves of 561,000 tonnes. Sukha Balka stated that the new mining area is equipped with an ore discharge platform, which helps optimize operational workflows and allows raw materials to be directly loaded into scraper equipment at the working face, thereby improving the efficiency of subsequent mining operations.

Sukha Balka, located in Kryvyi Rih, Dnipropetrovsk Oblast, Ukraine, consists of the Yuvileina mine and the Frunze mine. The Yuvileina mine has an annual sinter production capacity of approximately 2.25 million tonnes, while the Frunze mine has an annual capacity of about 1.05 million tonnes. The iron grade of its commercial ore typically ranges from 56% to 62%, and since 2018, it has been producing high-quality products with an iron grade of 64%. In 2024, Sukha Balka's run-of-mine ore output was 1 million tonnes, and its commercial ore output was 917,000 tonnes.
