en.Wedoany.com Reported - GreenTech Metals (ASX: GRE) has commenced a drilling program totaling 8,300 meters in the West Pilbara region of Western Australia, focusing on advancing the Whundo copper-zinc-gold project and the Munni Munni copper-nickel-platinum group elements (PGE) project. The program includes 4,750 meters of reverse circulation drilling and 3,560 meters of diamond drilling, with larger-diameter diamond drilling incorporated. One drill rig has already been mobilized to site, with a second rig to join operations once additional heritage clearances are approved.

The drilling at the Whundo project aims to expand the known extent of high-grade copper-gold mineralization while collecting metallurgical samples to test gold and silver recovery rates. Company CEO James Rattenbury stated this is a key requirement for incorporating precious metals into future updated resource estimates and validating historical drilling data. At the Munni Munni project, the company has deliberately retained flexibility in the design to commence drilling from existing cleared drill pads while planned heritage surveys clear additional target areas.

GreenTech has consolidated more than 500 square kilometers of tenure in the region, encompassing Munni Munni and the nearby Whundo project, and views these assets as the foundation of a multi-commodity critical minerals hub. Rattenbury said the company continues to review the West Pilbara projects while planning the drilling program, with clearly visible growth potential set to be unlocked throughout the project. The follow-up drilling at Whundo is designed to demonstrate extensions of known high-grade copper-gold mineralization, while initial drill locations at Munni Munni are limited to existing drill pads.

An independent review recently completed by Scott Halley identified a 5x2 kilometer copper anomaly in the center of the intrusion, confirming the area is no longer limited to historical PGE reefs but may represent a large-scale system with copper development potential. Further access to new areas depends on an eight-day heritage survey at Munni Munni, scheduled to begin on August 10.

The project is fully funded, following the company's placement that raised A$7.5 million at A$0.075 per share. The heritage survey aims to clear new drill locations and access routes within the Munni Munni area, with other high-priority basement target areas potentially identified through ongoing geophysical work. The company stated that commencing drilling from existing drill pads will ensure optimal utilization of drill rigs at both Munni Munni and Whundo, enabling drilling to start before access to new areas is cleared and to continue with minimal downtime.
