en.Wedoany.com Reported - On August 10, Greece's Public Power Corporation Group (PPC Group) announced it has signed an acquisition agreement with German renewable energy developer ABO Energy to acquire ABO Energy's subsidiaries in Poland and Hungary, along with a renewable energy project portfolio exceeding 2 gigawatts in total scale. The transaction is currently at the agreement signing stage and has not yet been completed.

The transaction includes two development platforms, ABO Energy Polska and ABO Energy Hungary, along with their professional teams. The relevant assets are held by 29 project companies, including 99 MW of solar PV projects that are either operational or near completion, as well as over 2 GW of solar PV, wind, and energy storage projects at various stages of development.
The Polish business is expected to close in September 2026, while the Hungarian business is planned to close in the fourth quarter. Both transactions remain subject to customary conditions precedent, including regulatory approvals from relevant authorities, and therefore cannot be characterized as PPC having completed the acquisition.
PPC has previously signed agreements to acquire a 57.5 MW operational solar PV plant in Hungary and has secured the right to acquire a neighboring 49 MW, four-hour battery energy storage project. Under the Group's 2026–2030 strategic plan, its total installed capacity is targeted to increase from 12.4 GW in 2025 to 24.3 GW by 2030, with a target of 2.2 GW for renewable energy and energy storage capacity in Hungary, Poland, and Slovakia.
