en.Wedoany.com Reported - On August 12, the developer of the Europe-Atlantic Logistics Park in Grândola, Portugal, disclosed that the project had obtained a conditional environmental impact statement in early August, with infrastructure construction planned to commence in 2027 after subsequent permits are secured.

The project is driven by Qantara Capital, with a total estimated investment of €468 million, of which the initial investment in public infrastructure for the park is approximately €40 million. The infrastructure works are expected to be implemented in phases, with a construction period of up to two years. The first phase includes the park's public facilities and the first two large plots.

Located in Grândola, Setúbal District, Portugal, the logistics park covers approximately 130 hectares, with a planned built area of 635,000 square meters. It comprises seven large plots and will adopt a build-to-suit model to construct logistics, warehousing, industrial production, assembly, and distribution facilities for tenant companies.

The project also includes plans for a rail freight terminal and a 23,000-square-meter container handling area, connected to Portugal's southern mainline railway. The rail facilities are scheduled for implementation in the second phase. The park is approximately 50 kilometers from the Port of Sines and can connect to the IC1 highway and the A2 motorway.

The environmental impact statement prohibits the park from adding new water intake facilities and requires rainwater and sewage to be discharged into locations specified by the project. The detailed planning of the park still requires procedures such as the transfer of public land to the Grândola Municipal Council, and no formal agreements have yet been signed with potential tenant companies.
