en.Wedoany.com Reported - Jungheinrich has entered into a strategic partnership with Movu Robotics. Under the agreement, Jungheinrich will act as the preferred integrator for Movu's shuttle systems, while Movu will serve as Jungheinrich's preferred supplier. The two companies will combine four-way shuttle technology with Jungheinrich's consulting, integration, software, and service expertise to deliver highly automated pallet high-bay warehouse solutions faster and more efficiently. Customers thus benefit from high-density pallet high-bay warehouses and seamless material flow from a single source.

Rising space costs, complex brownfield retrofit scenarios, and the demand for higher storage density are driving automated pallet high-bay warehouses into more facilities. Four-way shuttle systems, exemplified by the Movu Atlas, can reach deep into racking for multi-deep storage and retrieval, making them one of the most widely adopted technology approaches in high-density warehouses.

The partnership aims to make shuttle high-bay warehouse planning faster, integration easier, and operations more efficient. Specifically, the two companies will connect four-way shuttles directly to Jungheinrich's WMS (Warehouse Management System) and software ecosystem, with the system centrally managing inventory and optimizing storage and retrieval; standardized software interfaces will shorten commissioning times and accelerate connections to existing systems; the two companies will jointly conduct solution design for deeper proposals and faster quotations; and service processes will be coordinated to ensure reliable operation of equipment throughout its entire lifecycle.
Dr. Tobias Harzer, Chief Automation Officer at Jungheinrich, stated that customers today expect seamless automation solutions rather than individual automation components. The two companies integrate shuttle technology, software, integration, and services into a holistic system that fits seamlessly into existing warehouse structures. He specifically noted that the food and beverage, cold chain logistics, and third-party logistics (3PL) industries are seeing sharply growing demand for high-density shuttle solutions.
For customers, material flow can be fully automated from receiving, through the shuttle high-bay warehouse, to shipping. Shuttle systems, conveyor technology, and mobile robots are coordinated within an integrated Jungheinrich software stack, providing full visibility, reducing complexity, and offering a scalable foundation for future growth.
Movu shuttle systems are already deployed in over 200 warehouses and have entered numerous Jungheinrich customer projects in Europe and North America. An automated packaging materials warehouse for Coppenrath & Wiese is currently under construction, consolidating previously dispersed storage capacity into a central facility. At Mascot online in Almere, the Netherlands, an automated pallet high-bay warehouse with approximately 11,500 pallet positions is also being built, equipped with ten Movu four-way shuttles to ensure high storage density and rapid material supply. This project provides logistics support for the rapidly expanding retail company and lays the foundation for further expansion of its logistics processes.
Noë van Bergen, Chief Strategy Officer at Movu Robotics, stated that four-way shuttle systems are increasingly combining high-density storage with replenishment and picking processes and time-sequenced shipping functions within the same space. This partnership links Movu's innovative shuttle technology, its rack manufacturing capabilities as part of the stow Group, and Jungheinrich's integration, software, and service expertise, making high-density automated warehousing easier to implement, more flexible in design, and better suited to future growth. End users gain access to Jungheinrich's complete solution portfolio—from manual to fully automated—that can scale with their needs. The two companies will coordinate solution design, interfaces, and service processes in tandem, further strengthening Jungheinrich's position as a global systems integrator that combines warehouse automation, software, and services into a holistic system capable of growing with customer requirements.
