China Railway Construction Corporation Signs Contract for Large-Scale Photovoltaic Power Plant Project in Romania

en.Wedoany.com Reported - Recently, China Railway Construction Corporation (CRCC) and Romania's Oltenia Energy Group consortium formally signed a commercial contract, marking the full implementation of the EPC and O&M projects for four photovoltaic power plants in Gorj County, Romania. This successful signing represents another significant breakthrough for CRCC in the emerging industry sector, laying a solid foundation for its overseas new energy business layout.

The project is located in Gorj County in southwestern Romania, with its biggest highlight being the "redevelopment of new energy on former thermal power plant sites" — all four photovoltaic power plants are situated on the former ash disposal yards of the owner's two thermal power plants, achieving the transformation and upgrading of traditional industrial sites into green energy bases. The project adopts an "EPC general contracting + O&M" model, covering the entire chain of work including project design, equipment procurement, civil construction, system commissioning, grid connection, performance testing, 36 months of O&M services, and final asset transfer.

The tender attracted 13 local and international companies to compete, making it highly competitive. The CRCC consortium stood out with its proven overseas engineering track record, extensive experience in new energy EPC construction, and comprehensive technical solutions, fully demonstrating the owner's high recognition of the company's overall strength, technical capabilities, and performance reliability. Upon completion, the project will facilitate the smooth transformation of the traditional fossil fuel-based old industrial base, achieving a comprehensive upgrade from coal-fired power to green and clean energy. It serves as an important practice for the owner's corporate transformation and Romania's energy decarbonization strategy, holding significant demonstrative value for optimizing the local energy structure and promoting green and low-carbon development.
