en.Wedoany.com Reported - On August 13, as test train 55501 departed smoothly from Xi'an East Railway Station and crossed the Qinling Mountains toward Ankang West Railway Station, it marked the successful conclusion of the joint commissioning and testing of the Xi'an-Ankang High-Speed Railway (Xi'an to Ankang High-Speed Railway), officially entering the trial operation phase, laying a solid foundation for the subsequent opening and operation of the line.

The Xi'an-Ankang High-Speed Railway is a key component of the Baotou (Yinchuan) Corridor and the Beijing-Kunming Corridor within the "Eight Vertical and Eight Horizontal" high-speed railway network outlined in the national medium- and long-term railway network plan. The newly constructed main line spans approximately 171 kilometers with a design speed of 350 kilometers per hour, featuring six stations: Xi'an East, Niubeiliang, Zhashui West, Zhen'an West, Tongmu (a passing station that does not handle passenger services), and Ankang West. Among these, Xi'an East is an existing station, while the others are newly built.

Trial operation of a high-speed railway line, also known as operational testing, is a full-process, all-element practical inspection conducted in accordance with actual operational standards before the line's official inauguration. During the trial operation period, the railway authorities will strictly follow the formal operational organization model, carrying out key items such as train working diagram parameter testing, equipment failure simulation, emergency rescue drills, and train operation according to the diagram, to comprehensively verify the line's transportation organization efficiency, train arrival and departure capacity, service frequency rationality, passenger service equipment status, and system coordination and compatibility, providing a solid basis for the line's scientific opening and safe operation. Once the Xi'an-Ankang High-Speed Railway is open to traffic, the rail travel time between Xi'an and Ankang will be reduced from approximately 3 hours to under 1 hour.
