en.Wedoany.com Reported - On August 13, data showed that in the first seven months of this year, the import and export value of goods transported via the China-Laos Railway reached 20.11 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 29.9%.

According to statistics from Kunming Customs, in the first seven months of this year, the import value of tropical fruits from ASEAN countries via the China-Laos Railway reached 4.92 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 14.9%, while the export value of "new three items" such as new energy vehicles and photovoltaic products reached 2.31 billion yuan, surging 306.2% year-on-year. Cross-border e-commerce B2B export value grew by 1.5 times year-on-year. Among these, durian imports totaled 158,000 tons, up 25.6% year-on-year. Leveraging the China-Laos Railway as a "golden thoroughfare," a two-way trade pattern of "Chinese smart manufacturing heading south, Southeast Asian specialties heading north" is rapidly taking shape.
Kunming Customs has promoted the "Belt and Road" smooth flow initiative, continuously improving the level of customs clearance facilitation at railway ports. By implementing facilitation measures such as "advance declaration" and "railway fast clearance," and utilizing intelligent supervision and inspection equipment including large container inspection systems, 5G smart individual devices, and automated guided vehicles, supervision and clearance efficiency has been significantly enhanced. This fully ensures the efficient operation of international freight trains such as the "Lancang-Mekong Express" and "China-Laos Railway + China-Europe Railway Express," continuously unleashing the cross-border logistics potential of the China-Laos Railway.
As of August 10, since its opening to traffic in 2021, the China-Laos Railway has cumulatively transported cross-border cargo with a total value exceeding 94 billion yuan.
