Chugai Grants GSK Exclusive Global License for AID351
en.Wedoany.com Reported - On August 17, Chugai Pharmaceutical and GSK signed an exclusive license agreement for the anti-dengue virus antibody AID351. GSK has obtained exclusive worldwide rights to develop, manufacture, and commercialize this candidate drug, and will be responsible for clinical development and manufacturing, including Phase I clinical trials.

AID351 is being developed to target flavivirus infections, including dengue fever. The candidate drug originates from a human antibody discovered by the Singapore Immunology Network and the National University of Singapore, both under the Agency for Science, Technology and Research (A*STAR) in Singapore, and was optimized by Chugai using its proprietary antibody engineering technologies. Previous studies have shown that this antibody exhibits high neutralizing activity against all four dengue virus serotypes.
Under the agreement, if AID351 is successfully commercialized, Chugai is entitled to receive royalties based on product sales, as well as a percentage of revenue from GSK's sublicensing of the drug to third parties. The parties did not disclose the upfront payment, research and development milestone payments, or sales milestone payment arrangements.
This agreement builds on the AID351 collaboration agreement signed between the two parties in January 2025, under which GSK was primarily responsible for advancing clinical study preparations and evaluating related funding arrangements. Following the execution of the exclusive global license, GSK will take the lead in subsequent clinical development and manufacturing responsibilities.
