Greenwing Selects Four DLE Pilot Partners to Advance Argentine Lithium Project
en.Wedoany.com Reported - Dimension News, August 18 — Australian-listed critical minerals company Greenwing Resources Ltd (ASX:GW1) has announced the selection of four direct lithium extraction (DLE) pilot partners for its San Jorge lithium brine project at the San Francisco Salar in Catamarca Province, Argentina. The four partners cover three major DLE technology categories: adsorption, ion exchange, and solvent extraction.

Greenwing screened more than 30 DLE technology providers and directly engaged with 11 of them, with evaluation criteria covering technical performance, engineering capability, commercial maturity, financial strength, and commercial reference projects. The company stated that this screening marks the project's formal transition from the desktop selection phase to the partner testing phase based on representative San Jorge brine samples.
Each partner will complete a combined package of desktop assessments and laboratory-scale tests conducted on representative San Jorge brine. This phased evaluation program is designed to generate project-specific recovery rates, impurity rejection, and engineering data, establishing a validated testing pathway for the extended testing planned during the pre-feasibility study phase. Greenwing plans to ship representative brine samples to each partner, with the evaluation program expected to take approximately three months. The test results will be integrated into the scoping study, and the company also plans to develop an extended testing work program for the pre-feasibility study phase based on the partners' test results.
Greenwing Resources Managing Director Peter Wright stated that commencing DLE testing on San Jorge brine is an important step in defining the project's development potential and value. "By advancing the initial DLE pathways in parallel with the scoping study, we are building the technical and economic understanding needed to determine the most suitable development path for San Jorge," Wright said. "Importantly, this work will be conducted using our own brine, ensuring that technology selection is based on actual project data."
Project Background: The San Jorge project is located in Catamarca Province, Argentina, holding approximately 38,000 hectares of mining rights covering the San Francisco Salar and surrounding areas. The project has submitted an initial mineral resource estimate of 1.07 million tonnes of lithium carbonate equivalent (LCE) at an average grade of 195 mg/L. In April 2026, Greenwing commenced the project's scoping study; in June, it launched a targeted DLE study. On the Argentine side, the U.S.-Argentina Critical Minerals Framework and the Large Investment Incentive Regime (RIGI) provide qualifying projects with a 30-year fiscal stability period. Greenwing also holds graphite assets in Madagascar.
