en.Wedoany.com Reported - On October 5, Canada's Aldebaran Resources announced the final batch of results from the 2025–2026 infill and geotechnical drilling program at the Altar copper-gold project in San Juan Province, Argentina. Among them, hole ALD-26-260 intersected 1,728.9 meters of continuous mineralization from a depth of 141 meters, with a copper equivalent grade of 0.45%, including 756 meters at 0.68% copper equivalent from 965 meters, which contains an 88-meter interval grading 0.84% copper equivalent. The hole reached a final depth of 1,869.9 meters.

Among the other holes reported in this batch, hole ALD-26-266 returned 918.8 meters at 0.62% copper equivalent, including 302 meters at 0.76% copper equivalent; hole ALD-26-265 returned 901 meters at 0.47% copper equivalent, including 196 meters at 0.73%; hole ALD-26-269 returned 940.7 meters at 0.49% copper equivalent, including 165 meters at 0.80%; and hole ALD-26-271 returned 841.9 meters at 0.54% copper equivalent, including 253 meters at 0.73%.

The 2025–2026 drilling program was primarily designed to upgrade existing inferred resources to the measured and indicated categories and to provide geotechnical data for the final pit slopes and subsequent engineering design. Some holes were specifically drilled for geotechnical investigation of the final pit walls and therefore did not primarily target intersecting mineralization. With the release of this batch of results, all assay results from this phase of drilling have now been published.

Aldebaran plans to incorporate more than 40,000 meters of new drilling data added at the main Altar deposit since the previous resource estimate completed at the end of 2024 into the next mineral resource update, while also including for the first time approximately 30,000 meters of drilling results from the adjacent Radio Porphyry target. Radio had not previously been included in the Altar project's mineral resource estimate.

The 2024 mineral resource estimate for the Altar project shows measured and indicated resources of 2.4 billion tonnes at 0.42% copper, 0.07 g/t gold, and 1.22 g/t silver; and inferred resources of 1.22 billion tonnes at 0.37% copper, 0.04 g/t gold, and 1.25 g/t silver. Aldebaran holds an 80% interest in the Altar project, with Sibanye-Stillwater holding the remaining 20%.

The company had previously adjusted the release date of the new mineral resource estimate to October 2026 due to extended turnaround times at assay laboratories. Under the latest schedule, the Altar pre-feasibility study is planned for completion in the second to third quarter of 2027; this resource update will serve as the basis for subsequent pre-feasibility mine design and resource classification.
