en.Wedoany.com Reported - Google plans to stop producing Pixel-branded devices in China starting in 2027, shifting related manufacturing tasks to India and Vietnam. The adjustment covers not only Pixel smartphones but also Pixel Watch smartwatches and Pixel Buds wireless earbuds. The plan has been communicated to suppliers, but Google has not yet publicly confirmed the specific arrangements.

Vietnam will become the primary development and manufacturing base for high-end Pixel models. Google has already established a supplier network there and advanced new product introduction (NPI) work for the Pixel, Pixel Pro, and Pixel Fold series in 2026. NPI includes production process development, validation, and mass production preparation, meaning the Vietnamese base's role extends beyond assembly to encompass manufacturing engineering.

India, meanwhile, will handle the expanding smartphone assembly tasks. Foxconn and Dixon Technologies are already producing Pixel phones locally, and Google has previously discussed expanding capacity for overseas markets with its manufacturing partners, as well as studying the production of components such as batteries, chargers, casings, and fingerprint sensors in India.

Once the supply chain adjustment is complete, full-device production of Pixel phones, watches, and earbuds is expected to be concentrated in India and Vietnam. The reported "move out of China" primarily refers to the development and manufacturing segments of Pixel devices and should not be expanded to imply that Google's entire hardware supply chain or all components will exit China.

Google expects Pixel phone shipments in 2026 to grow by 8% to 10% from approximately 12 million units in 2025. The expansion of high-end model capacity in Vietnam and assembly scale in India will provide manufacturing support for its annual shipment target of roughly 13 million units.
