en.Wedoany.com Reported - Viridien, an advanced technology, digital, and Earth data company, has signed a multi-client partnership agreement with Petrosen, Senegal's national oil company, to expand its operations into the MSGBC Basin, providing new subsurface data sources for operators evaluating open blocks. This collaboration marks the geophysical services company's entry into the regional multi-client seismic data market, previously dominated by TGS and PGS.

Under the agreement, Viridien will provide seismic imaging and data analysis services in the MSGBC Basin, which spans five countries: Mauritania, Senegal, The Gambia, Guinea-Bissau, and Guinea. The agreement comes as Senegal's upstream sector accelerates: the Sangomar field produced 17.9 million barrels of crude oil in the first half of 2026, and the cross-border Greater Tortue Ahmeyim LNG project, developed in partnership with Mauritania, has reached full production capacity. Petrosen has also launched a $100 million exploration campaign to assess onshore exploration potential, with preliminary results expected before the end of the year.

For Viridien, this collaboration continues its strategic direction of developing national oil company (NOC)-supported multi-client projects in frontier basins across Africa. Over the past year, the company has reached similar agreements in Angola, Côte d'Ivoire, and Malta, positioning its seismic imaging and data analysis capabilities as a tool to attract exploration investment into under-explored blocks.

The agreement comes at a time when the MSGBC region is entering a more active cycle of exploration and development. Operators are expanding existing oil and gas projects while also seeking new discoveries. As governments promote new licensing opportunities and attract international exploration capital, access to high-quality subsurface data will become increasingly critical.
