Franco-German CoreTechnologie Releases Version 1.8 of 4D Additive Software
en.Wedoany.com Reported - CoreTechnologie has released version 1.8 of its 4D_Additive software, adding new features to the data preparation workflow for industrial additive manufacturing applications to shorten job preparation cycles and enhance workflow transparency. The Franco-German software developer stated that the new version focuses on optimizing the efficiency of creating support structures and lattice structures in metal and polymer additive manufacturing processes.

The most significant update in the new version is the introduction of the "Build History Tree" feature. Drawing on the design history tree concept found in modern CAD systems, this feature presents all processing operations in build preparation in a structured chronological sequence. Every stage of the user's preparation process is recorded, allowing parameters to be reviewed, modified, and optimized at any point without restarting the entire workflow. CoreTechnologie states that this feature accelerates the implementation of design changes while compressing overall job preparation time.
In terms of data processing, version 1.8 offers more flexible options. Users can import and process models as precise CAD geometry or triangulated data depending on application requirements. For scenarios requiring rapid preparation of complex components, precise CAD geometry can be selectively converted into triangulated models, which are then optimized using the software's latest automatic repair technology. This approach balances the precision of original CAD data with the processing speed of triangulated models.
Model repair capabilities have been enhanced in this update. The new "Advanced Automatic Mode" automates a series of repair operations that previously required manual intervention. This tool can automatically correct common defects in low-quality 3D data or data from external sources. With a single click, users can repair and optimize defective models, clearing obstacles for subsequent build preparation and thereby reducing engineering workload.
The new version also introduces stiffener structures to improve the manufacturability of challenging designs. These reinforcing features are designed to stabilize thin-walled and large-area components during production, reducing deformation and maintaining dimensional accuracy. Lattice design capabilities have also been strengthened, allowing users to customize lattice structures based on the geometry and functional requirements of individual parts, offering new avenues for lightweighting and material reduction. CoreTechnologie notes that these features are particularly useful for manufacturers seeking to optimize component performance while reducing production costs and material consumption.
