en.Wedoany.com Reported - On August 18, Swedish freight technology company Einride reached a deployment agreement with Tesla for 500 Tesla Semi electric heavy-duty trucks, with the first batch of vehicles slated to enter operation in September 2026, and all vehicles to be phased into Einride's North American fleet over the next 24 months.

In the U.S. market, the standard-range Semi starts at approximately $260,000, equipped with a 548 kWh battery pack and a range of about 325 miles; the long-range version starts at $290,000, featuring an 822 kWh battery pack and a range of about 500 miles. Following the start of mass production, Tesla secured an order for 500 electric trucks from Einride this week, marking its largest Semi order to date. Einride is a Swedish company, but these trucks will be used in the U.S. market, operating on routes in California, New Jersey, Texas, Illinois, and Georgia, supporting companies such as Amazon.

Einride CEO Roozbeh Charli stated that this deployment once again demonstrates the company's ability to execute at scale per customer requirements; working closely with Tesla to bring the new-generation Semi into real-world operations quickly and at scale proves the strength of the partnership and shows that this technology is rapidly moving from promise to everyday operations.

Dan Priestley, Senior Director of the Tesla Semi program, noted that Einride is at the forefront of sustainable freight, and he is pleased to deepen the partnership through this order of 500 Semis. Electric heavy-duty trucks achieve a lower cost per mile than diesel trucks through fuel savings, reduced maintenance costs, and higher uptime; when deployed at scale, these savings are further enhanced through operational efficiency.

Industry observers speculate that companies such as PepsiCo, Frito-Lay, and DHL, which have partnered with Tesla for years, may also place large orders in the near future.
