en.Wedoany.com Reported - On September 3, Coca-Cola Canada Bottling launched an expansion project at its flagship manufacturing site in Brampton, Ontario. The project represents a total investment of CAD 141 million and will add 62,000 square feet (approximately 5,760 square meters) of production space to the existing facility of roughly 670,000 square feet (approximately 62,200 square meters), along with the construction of a high-speed automated can beverage production line.

Once the new production line is operational, the Brampton facility will add an annual production capacity of at least 20 million cases of beverages, primarily serving the Ontario and Eastern Canada markets. Coca-Cola Canada Bottling previously stated that the new line will become one of the company's most technologically advanced production lines in Canada, while also expanding can production capabilities and manufacturing capacity across different packaging formats. The project is scheduled to become operational by the end of 2027.

The construction work is being carried out by Broccolini, a Canadian construction firm. The company was awarded the project in March of this year, with the scope of work including the new production space, supporting infrastructure for the high-speed production line, and engineering integration with the existing plant's production systems. As the expansion area is adjacent to operating manufacturing, warehousing, and distribution facilities, the work will be carried out in phases while the existing plant continues production, with manufacturing and logistics operations maintained throughout the construction period.

The expansion plan was first announced on February 17, followed by the selection of Broccolini as the construction contractor in March, and moved into the on-site construction phase on September 3. During the construction period, the project is expected to provide up to 500 construction jobs. The Brampton facility, which began operations in 2001, currently integrates beverage manufacturing, warehousing, distribution, customer service, and sales functions, and is also Coca-Cola Canada Bottling's largest production and operations site.
