Osisko Metals Drills 28.5 Metres Grading 4.74% Copper at Gaspé Copper Mine in Canada

en.Wedoany.com Reported - On September 10, Osisko Metals announced a new batch of assay results from the 2026 drilling program at its Gaspé Copper project in Quebec, Canada, covering 12 drill holes and 28 mineralized intercepts. Among them, drill hole 30-1228 intersected 256.5 metres of mineralization outside the existing 2026 mineral resource model, averaging 0.85% copper and 5.13 g/t silver, including a high-grade interval of 28.5 metres grading 4.74% copper and 27.4 g/t silver. This hole is part of the outside-the-pit resource expansion drilling.

Drill hole 30-1228 is located on the western edge of the Needle Mountain pit, approximately 800 metres from the 2026 mineral resource model. It was drilled toward the southeast and passed through the pillar retained between the historical B zone and C zone underground stopes. The 256.5-metre mineralized interval represents continuous outside-the-pit expansion mineralization, with the 28.5-metre high-grade zone grading 4.74% copper located at the C zone horizon. This drilling extended the confirmed mineralization in the area approximately 50 metres below the C zone, reaching a vertical depth of about 275 metres.

This batch of drilling also returned multiple mineralized results both within and outside the existing resource model. Drill hole 30-1235 intersected 257.5 metres grading 0.39% copper in resource infill mineralization; drill hole 30-1233 intersected 177.5 metres grading 0.40% copper in infill mineralization; drill hole 30-1226 intersected 101 metres grading 0.44% copper in expansion mineralization in the peripheral area within the existing open pit; drill hole 30-1234 returned 67.7 metres grading 0.63% copper in outside-the-pit mineralization; and drill hole 30-1225 returned 49.7 metres grading 0.74% copper in outside-the-pit mineralization.

Among them, drill hole 30-1225 was drilled eastward from the western edge of the Needle Mountain pit, passing through the pillar of the historical B zone underground workings and ending in the C zone stopes. This hole successively intersected 52.7 metres grading 0.36% copper and a deeper interval of 49.7 metres grading 0.74% copper, and returned a 6-metre intercept grading 1.19% copper before entering the historical C zone stope. Drill hole 30-1226 is located near the eastern edge of the Needle Mountain pit, approximately 260 metres from the boundary of the 2026 resource model. In addition to the 101-metre main mineralized interval, it returned two outside-the-pit mineralized intervals below the open pit floor: 18 metres grading 0.31% copper and 28.5 metres grading 0.24% copper, extending mineralization in the area vertically to approximately 305 metres.

Drill holes 30-1233 and 30-1235 were primarily used for infill drilling of the existing resource. After passing through the historical B zone pillar, drill hole 30-1233 returned three mineralized intervals: 177.5 metres grading 0.40% copper, 76.5 metres grading 0.42% copper, and 52.5 metres grading 0.35% copper, extending mineralization to a maximum depth of approximately 380 metres. Drill hole 30-1235, located approximately 170 metres away, intersected a continuous 257.5-metre mineralized interval from near surface, averaging 0.39% copper and 3.60 g/t silver, with mineralization extending from the B zone horizon to below the C zone at a vertical depth of approximately 305 metres.

The 2026 drilling program of Osisko Metals serves both resource infill and resource expansion purposes: drill holes within the resource model are used to upgrade inferred resources to measured or indicated resource categories; drill holes outside the model are further divided into expansion drilling within the existing Whittle open pit and resource expansion drilling outside the pit. The company's 2026 resource update announced in April shows that the open pit-constrained measured and indicated resources at the Gaspé Copper Mine total 1.834 billion tonnes grading 0.27% copper on average; inferred resources are approximately 239 million tonnes grading 0.41% copper on average. Subsequent drilling in 2026 will continue to test the Needle Mountain trend and mineralization extensions outside the existing resource model.
