Peru's Sienna Minerals Plans 58-Hole Drilling at Igor Project
en.Wedoany.com Reported - Sienna Minerals SAC is advancing geological evaluation work at the Igor mining exploration project, with plans to drill 58 holes across 15 drilling platforms to determine the gold, silver, and copper mineralization in the deposit.

The project is located in the Huaranchal district of Otuzco province in the La Libertad region. According to the plan, of the 15 drilling platforms, 10 will be newly built and the remaining 5 will reuse existing platforms, which have been included in the list of unrehabilitated mine workings.
The exploration design involves a total drilling footage of approximately 10,315 meters, with 58 holes laid out to assess whether mineralized bodies of interest to the company are present.
Two Sandvik DE710 or similar diamond drill rigs are planned for the work. Based on a total footage of 10,315 meters, the average footage per rig is 24 meters per day, and approximately 48 meters per day for both rigs combined, with actual footage depending on the geological characteristics of the rock.
Drilling of the 58 holes is expected to last approximately 361 days, or about 12 months on average, with continuous 24-hour operations in two 12-hour shifts.
Each drilling platform covers an area of 225 square meters (15 meters long and 15 meters wide) and is used for rig installation and operation, as well as the placement of auxiliary equipment and consumables. The two drill rigs are stationed separately on each platform, with each rig occupying an area 9 meters long and 3 meters wide.
Diamond drilling operations require industrial water, with a water consumption of approximately 0.6 L/s per rig. On this basis, the project's daily water consumption is approximately 103.68 cubic meters, and monthly water consumption is approximately 3,110.40 cubic meters.
In terms of supporting facilities, the company also plans to open up 1.05 kilometers of mule-track access, build 15 mud pits, 3 Australian-style water tanks, and 2 chemical toilets.
The tool storage area is 4 meters long and 3 meters wide and is used for organizing and safekeeping operational equipment. Access to this area is restricted to trained personnel to ensure proper tool management and compliance with established safety standards.
