en.Wedoany.com Reported - On September 14, Oriental Rail Infrastructure Limited disclosed that the company has secured an order worth Rs 58,475,844 from Indian Railways' Modern Coach Factory (MCF) to manufacture and supply 54 sets of seats for LHB non-air-conditioned chair car coaches. The order falls under domestic procurement, with a contract execution period extending to January 10, 2027.

The procurement covers seat systems for LHB Non-AC Chair Car Coaches. Under the terms of the order, the 54 sets of seats will be delivered to the Modern Coach Factory in Raebareli, Uttar Pradesh after production is completed. The goods must pass inspection and acceptance by the consignee before settlement, and the contract stipulates that 100% of the payment shall be made after material arrival, inspection, and acceptance are completed.

Oriental Rail Infrastructure has long supplied interior products such as coach seats and berths to Indian Railways. According to the company's official information, its seat and berth products cover both newly built and existing railway coaches, including ordinary coaches as well as train models such as Rajdhani Express and Duronto Express; the company claims a market share of over 50% in the railway seat and berth products market.

This order for 54 sets belongs to a different procurement batch from the company's previous LHB coach seat orders. In April 2025, the company secured an order worth approximately Rs 39.89 million from Indian Railways' Kapurthala Coach Factory, which included 26 sets of 108-seat LHB non-AC chair car coach seats and 8 sets of 78-seat LHB AC second-class chair car coach seats. This order from the Modern Coach Factory covers only LHB non-AC chair car coach seats, with the quantity increased to 54 sets.

According to Oriental Rail Infrastructure's official website, in addition to seats and berths, the company also produces high-density panels, flame-retardant cushioning materials, sound insulation panels, doors, and other components for railway coaches. Its wholly-owned subsidiary also produces railway wagons, bogies, couplers, and other rolling stock equipment. This order corresponds to the manufacturing and supply of railway coach interior components and does not involve complete vehicle manufacturing.
