Philippines 50 Million Peso Smart Pump Station Irrigation Project Completed Acceptance

en.Wedoany.com Reported - On September 16, the Seventh Region of the Philippines' National Irrigation Administration announced that the Loboc River—Villarcayo Pump Station Irrigation Project in Carmen, Bohol, completed acceptance. The project involves an investment of approximately 50 million pesos, serves an area of 50 hectares, is equipped with 3 submersible pumps of 15 horsepower, and includes monitoring, filtration, and an AI satellite-assisted irrigation control system for monitoring irrigation flow rates and the status of irrigable areas.

The approved budget for the project's equipment procurement and installation contract is 48.5437 million pesos. The procurement scope includes inverters and control cabinets, an AI satellite-assisted monitoring system, an integrated water and fertilizer system, submersible pumps, pipes and accessories, solar panels, and supporting equipment. The contract period specified in the official tender documents is 240 days.

In addition to electromechanical and smart irrigation systems, the project also includes supporting construction of water intake, water conveyance, and on-field irrigation facilities. The project forms an integrated irrigation system comprising solar power supply, pumped water intake, filtration, integrated water and fertilizer application, water conveyance pipeline network, and on-field operation monitoring, primarily serving agricultural production areas in Barangay Villarcayo and surrounding Carmen.

The AI satellite-assisted module in the system is used to control and monitor irrigation and drainage volumes and the status of irrigable areas, and the operational data can be used to adjust field water supply. The project is used by farmers associated with the Loboc River—Villarcayo Irrigators Association and has entered the irrigation operation phase after completing acceptance.

The Seventh Region of the Philippines' National Irrigation Administration has continuously been building pump stations, drip irrigation, and small-scale irrigation projects in Bohol in recent years. Concurrently publicly procured projects also include the Malinao Irrigation System Drip Irrigation Project, multiple small-scale irrigation systems, and community irrigation systems. The Loboc River—Villarcayo project is among them a pump station project with a relatively concentrated adoption of solar power, smart monitoring, and integrated water and fertilizer equipment.
