XCMG Launches Hanjing New Energy Heavy Truck with 800V Architecture Supporting Megawatt-Level Fast Charging

en.Wedoany.com Reported - XCMG unveiled its new-generation alternative-energy heavy truck, the Hanjing, on September 20, targeting long-haul and cross-regional freight scenarios and focusing on addressing logistics operators' concerns regarding range, charging speed, operational availability, and total lifecycle operating efficiency.

Development of the Hanjing model began in 2023. During the development period, XCMG visited major logistics hubs and collaborated with large transport companies to identify real-world requirements for range, charging, efficiency, and reliability; the engineering team then focused on electric drive, centralized thermal management, torque distribution, and regenerative braking, optimizing the truck for real long-haul transport scenarios.

The vehicle features a low-drag cab, a patented integrated electric drive axle, and intelligent control devices aimed at reducing energy consumption. Its 800-volt architecture supports megawatt-level fast charging, enabling the battery to charge from 20% to 80% in under 20 minutes. The Hanjing combines a hot-stamped steel body with a strength of 1,500 MPa and a multi-layer battery thermal protection system to enhance vehicle and battery safety. A central domain controller, a navigation-supported highway driving assistance system, and a digital cockpit support drivers on long-haul routes.

Before launch, the Hanjing underwent extreme heat, extreme cold, high-altitude, wading, and crash tests, and completed a 24-hour endurance test at the Yancheng test track, covering 2,198 kilometers at a gross combined weight of 49 tons, demonstrating its performance under demanding long-haul heavy-load operating conditions.

XCMG also provides charging infrastructure, connected fleet management, and full lifecycle services, offering operators an integrated system covering vehicle management, charging, and daily operations. Its connected vehicle platform enables fleet operators to monitor vehicle status and energy consumption and to plan vehicle selection and charging within their routes.

From January to July 2026, XCMG ranked first in China in sales of both alternative-energy heavy trucks and tractors, and has held the top spot in national alternative-energy heavy truck sales for three consecutive years. XCMG trucks are also sold to Indonesia, Thailand, Guinea, and other African markets; a major customer in Indonesia's mining industry, after purchasing more than 150 dump trucks with 8×4 drive and 600 kWh alternative-energy batteries, placed an additional order for 100 vehicles.

Before bringing the vehicle to market, XCMG showcased its new alternative-energy commercial vehicles and transport solutions for construction and logistics at the 2026 IAA Transportation exhibition in Hannover, Germany. XCMG will continue to adapt its products to local regulations, road conditions, and operational processes, and to expand the application of alternative-energy heavy trucks from fixed routes and regional transport to broader use cases in long-haul transportation.
