en.Wedoany.com Reported - Recently, the integrated wind-solar-storage-hydrogen-ammonia-methanol project built by China Tianying in Liaoyuan, Jilin Province, has entered the pre-production sprint stage. Currently, electrolytic hydrogen production, methanol synthesis, carbon source supply, wind power transmission, and utility engineering systems are being commissioned in a synchronized manner, and the project is scheduled to produce its first batch of green methanol by the end of the third quarter of 2026. China Tianying disclosed in May this year that the Liaoyuan project plans to complete commissioning and produce products by the end of the third quarter; the project progress released by Jilin Province in August also clarified that the chemical industrial park will fully carry out single-unit testing and integrated system commissioning, and advance the first batch of green methanol output according to the end-of-third-quarter milestone.

The Liaoyuan Tianying project has a total investment of RMB 28.6 billion and is located in the Liaoyuan High-tech Industrial Development Zone. It relies on ecological restoration of abandoned mine pits to deploy wind power, energy storage, electrolytic hydrogen production, carbon dioxide capture, and green methanol production. The latest public statement from Jilin Province shows that the project plans a total wind power installed capacity of 2.609 GW, with 365 wind turbines arranged in total, and a total planned green methanol production capacity of 1.28 million tons per year. The total area of the project's chemical industrial park is approximately 1.284 million square meters.

As of August, the steel structure of the Phase I hydrogen production workshop has been completed, large-scale complete sets of electrolytic hydrogen production equipment and carbon dioxide compressor units have been delivered and installed, 12 hydrogen storage tanks and 2 buffer tanks have been built, and auxiliary facilities such as circulating water, air separation, and warehousing are under simultaneous construction. The civil construction and intelligent wiring of the central intelligent control room are nearing completion. During the same period, the overall completion rate of the Phase I chemical section civil engineering was about 95%, and the equipment installation engineering was about 85% complete. The site has shifted to the pipeline connection, single-unit testing, and integrated system commissioning stage.

The latest construction progress in September shows that the demineralized water station has produced qualified demineralized water, the fire water system has completed the single-unit test of the fire water pump, and the air separation unit has begun to supply qualified nitrogen and instrument air; the electrolytic hydrogen production unit has entered the overall commissioning stage for hydrogen production, the dynamic and static equipment installation of the methanol synthesis unit has been completed, and pipeline pressure testing is being advanced. Some storage tanks in the hydrogen spherical tank farm have been delivered, and the central control room is now capable of full-process monitoring, fault warning, capacity scheduling, and data traceability. The wind power and power transmission systems outside the park are in the final stage of electric power quality inspection.

The Phase I wind power section of the project advances a total of 5 projects, involving 133 wind turbines, with a total installed capacity of 950.95 MW; the overall wind power plan consists of 9 wind farms. Green electricity is fed into the hydrogen production system through the park's distribution network and self-built transmission lines, using alkaline water electrolysis to produce green hydrogen, which then enters the methanol synthesis unit together with carbon dioxide captured from biomass flue gas. China Tianying disclosed that the project forms a continuous production chain of "wind power-hydrogen production-carbon capture-methanol synthesis," with products mainly targeting the green industrial raw materials and clean fuel markets.

Public information from Jilin Province shows that after the project is fully completed, it is planned to produce 150,000 tons of green hydrogen and 800,000 tons of green methanol per year, and consume approximately 5.6 billion kWh of green electricity annually; additionally, according to the project's overall phased construction plan, the total planned green methanol production capacity is 1.28 million tons per year. Subsequent construction of the project also includes the Phase II methanol unit, and related preliminary planning, equipment ordering, and site leveling work have been advanced in parallel.
