Nigeria's Oilserv Signs DEF-3 and D4-5 Block Development Agreements with Gabon

en.Wedoany.com Reported - Nigerian energy infrastructure company Oilserv has signed an Agreement Protocol with the Gabonese government, under which the two parties will cooperate on the development and commercialization of oil and gas resources in the DEF-3 and D4-5 oil and gas blocks. The agreement was signed on behalf of the Gabonese government by Gabon's Minister of Petroleum and Gas Clotaire Kondja, and on Oilserv's side by Chairman and Group Chief Executive Officer Emeka Okwuosa.

In addition to upstream oil and gas resource development, the scope of the agreement also includes the construction of natural gas transportation, compression, and processing infrastructure to supply natural gas to Gabon's thermal power generation and industrial users. Oilserv's official disclosure shows that this cooperation framework incorporates upstream resource development and midstream natural gas infrastructure simultaneously, specifically covering the gas transportation, boosting, and processing segments required for the subsequent commercialization of the two blocks.

The agreement disclosed by both parties remains at the framework cooperation stage, and publicly available information has not disclosed the reserves, equity interests, investment amounts, number of wells, development timetable, or scale of natural gas processing facilities for the DEF-3 and D4-5 blocks. What can be confirmed at this stage is that Oilserv has formally entered the development and commercialization cooperation framework for the above two blocks, and the subsequent engineering scope still needs to be further implemented through specific contracts and development plans.

The Gabonese government has continued to advance natural gas resource development and infrastructure construction this year. In May, Gabon's Ministry of Petroleum and Gas disclosed that the government is advancing preparatory work for multiple natural gas projects, with a focus on the construction of natural gas gathering, processing, and transmission and distribution facilities; in June, Gabon also signed a deepwater and ultra-deepwater exploration cooperation memorandum with Shell to advance geological and seismic data evaluation of the relevant blocks.
